This is our very first release of this Portuguese white variety, which we planted in 2015 (pronounced "al-va-reen-yo") and has already won two bronze medals. You may also know it by the Spanish name, Albariño. We think this wine is a perfect match for the festive season; think warm weather, a grazing platter and a chilled glass of this refreshing wine . It exudes attractive aromatics of honeysuckle and orange blossom with a textured palate of green apple and lemon tart. It's lighter than the Arinto so if you're enjoying both on the same day, try this one first.Bronze medal - Rutherglen Wine Show

The white varietals of the warm northern areas of Portugal seem perfect for the climatic conditions found in Rutherglen. This wine has a bright green gold colour and attractive aromas of fresh yeasty green apple, honeysuckle and blossom. It is full flavoured with complex citrus characteristics including lemon, lime and orange. It has a wonderful texture and balance with a slightly bitter citrus oil finish that makes it both long and refreshing.
Picked early morning to protect fruit, immediately crushed and pressed to tank. After juice fining, the free run and pressings were recombined prior to fermentation. Fermented with a neutral yeast to preserve the varietal flavours. This wine was entirely kept in stainless steel prior to bottling.
