    A blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cão, this dry rosé is light and fresh with a distinctive ruby blush colour. Aromas of strawberry and cherry follow through onto the full-flavoured and balanced palate, with a lovely, crisp finish. It's a versatile wine for summer - great as an aperitif or with antipasto.

    This rose is based on a blend of some of the Portuguese varieties that are so well suited to the warm conditions of Rutherglen. It has a distinctive ruby blush colour and enticing aromas of strawberry and cherry that follow through to the palate. The wine is full flavoured with good length and balance. It has a dry and crisp finish that is both fresh and vibrant. A flavoursome and versatile wine for summer.

    The juice for the Rosé came from co-ferments intended for Vintage Fortified, The Prince, and Reserve Tempranillo. We draw a small quantity of juice from these to make the rosé while also concentrating the finished red wine. It sounds easy, but persuading freshly-crushed grapes to part with some juice is rather difficult! We use giant sieves to pump out the juice, and it requires someone’s full body-weight on the sieve to get it to sink. At one point there was the winemaking team Andrew, Manning and Manuel all on sieves while Martin pumped them out. The juice was transferred to stainless steel for fermentation, and th e team allowed it to start with a wild ferment, with a red wine yeast added part-way through the fermentation to ensure the ferment finished. The wine was kept in stainless steel prior to bottling.
