There’s no instant gratification in the wine industry. If you want to make a new wine, you need to plan it, price it, prepare it, plant it, produce it, package it, promote it...the list goes on. Unless you can bypass the vine planting and buy fruit that is ready to harvest, this process can take many years. My father, Chris Killeen, planted several Portuguese varieties in the 1990s to further develop his passion for producing vintage ports. Since his passing, S&K has been using these fantastic varieties for red table wines as well as fortified production.  Continue reading...

We had a blast this year at Winery Walkabout, one of Victoria's biggest wine festivals. Great weather meant the crowds could enjoy the sunshine (except for a wet and windy 20 minute stint on Saturday) and the George McFloyd Blues Band kept everyone's toes tapping.
