Tastes of Rutherglen 2018

Thursday, December 14, 2017

Join 19 of Rutherglen's great wineries on the 10th and 11th of March 2018 for a gourmet food and wine festival like no other. A progressive feast showing off the region's best produce and wine, where you travel from winery to winery to sample, taste and sip on the incredible flavours of Rutherglen. Festival entry is only $20 for both days. Get your friends and family together, buy your tickets, and get your taste buds ready for a truly unforgettable foodie experience!

At Stanton & Killeen, we are excited to be working with chef Wassim Saliba from La Maison, one of the best restaurants in the Albury/Wodonga region. His food is packed with flavour and matches so well with our savoury, Portuguese-inspired wines.

Our menu includes a glass of wine:

  • $25: Char-grilled calamari, with garlic & white bean smash, roasted cherry tomato, smoky chipotle aioli and a chorizo crumb. Wine Match: 2017 Rosé

  • $25: Spanish-inspired beef burger. Pulled brisket in a brioche bun with red bean & chorizo braise, manchego cheese, mole sauce, corn relish & fresh coriander with a side of duck-fat potato.
Wine Match: 2016 The Prince Reserva

  • $18: Persian pavlova adorned with white chocolate glaze, shaved halva, pistachios, rose petals and pomegranate seeds.
    Wine Match: NV Rutherglen Muscat

  • $4: Layered golden pastry baklava with Middle Eastern syrup and nuts. (No wine match).

Don't forget, we're happy to change the wine match to something that better suits your palate.

Meghan and Marcus from local acoustic duo, Southbound, are back for the third year in a row. Singing a great mix of old and new tunes, they are always happy to play your requests.

We will be holding our popular Portuguese Masterclass again this year, which is hosted by Wendy Killeen and winemaker Andrew Drumm. Explore what makes these varieties so special to S&K with a guided tasting and education on what to look for when trying these wine styles. It is free to participate but seats are strictly limited so please contact us to book your place. Saturday and Sunday 11am and 2pm.

Festival entry is only $20 with all tickets available at the event website. For an extra $27 you can get the Winery Shuttle Bus which drives you safely from venue to venue and for $37, you can get the Regional Shuttle Bus which leaves from several of the major towns such as Albury, Beechworth, Wangaratta and Yarrawonga and includes the shuttle between the wineries.
