Two New Fortifieds for Your Christmas Table

Wednesday, December 07, 2016

Just in time for your Christmas celebrations, we have released two new fortified wines. Whilst both are produced in the ‘port’ style, they are two very different wines expressing the distinctive seasons from which they were made. As one of the few Australian wineries to continue making vintage fortifieds, we love the versatility of these wines that no longer need to be classed as ‘after-dinner drinks’. Continue reading...

Summer Quinta Quarterly

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

For the second year in a row, we’ve been shortlisted for the Australian Wine Producer of the Year Trophy at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. To be recognised for consistent quality is a great way to finish 2016, and a what a year it’s been. The weather has been superb and if it stays relatively dry and mild, the 2017 vintage will be another standout (my fingers are crossed as I’ve put my hand up again to be the cellar hand). Continue reading...

Saturday, February 22, 2014

As many of you will have noticed, 2013 was big year of change for S&K. We started the redesign process of our labels in January with John Jewel Design in Albury and they are finalising our new website as I write this. The new branding is a reflection of who we are historically by using a similar colour palette and styling to our old labels in the 70s and 80s, but also to represent a sense of place and the physicality of our winery. We are traditional, family-orientated and a little rustic so weren't looking to be anything we’re not. We are now focusing on becoming entirely estate grown and made and plating to our strenghts and region. Sorry to the Savvy Blanc and Pinot drinkers!

Sparkling Range Coming Soon

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

2014 is the year of bubbles and we can’t wait to release our three new sparkling wines. In January, our Sparkling Shiraz will be available to purchase online or at cellar door followed by our Sparkling Muscat Blanc in March just in time for Tastes of Rutherglen. Then in September, after a year on lees, our Reserve Sparkling Tempranillo made in the Methode Champenois style will be a true highlight. There are very few Sparkling Tempranillo wines on offer in Australia and our version is rich and full bodied with plenty of juicy fruit.

November Newsletter - Latest Releases

Friday, November 15, 2013

How many interesting ‘six degrees of separation’ stories do you have hidden away; perhaps some forgotten, some retold regularly? I have shared one such story with you on the back page. In the food and wine industry there are many times where one is brought together with strangers, often due to the inclusive nature of sharing and enjoying great food and wine.

WHAT A WONDERFUL START TO 2013! This year’s vintage was a cracker. The beauty of wine is that each bottle represents the trials and tribulations of that particular vintage expressing the characteristics of the weather, the soils and the love of the vine.
