Did you know that by 2020, the word tokay will disappear from Australian wine labels, websites and all marketing material? We won’t even be able to write that Topaque was “previously known as Tokay”. It is already the case for 11 sensitive GIs (Geographical Indicators) that Australian winemakers once used to describe their wine styles, including Port, Sherry, Champagne and Burgundy. Continue reading...

For many, the summer holidays are a time of slowing down and recharging, but for us, it’s when we start the hustle and haul of making wine. The vineyard team are in full swing and won’t slow down until April or May when the last of the grapes are harvested. The winemaking team - still working on our 2017 wines - are also prepping the barrels, tanks and equipment in time for vintage, which usually starts around Australia Day for us when we pick the Chardonnay, and a short time later, Muscat (for Moscato and Sparkling). Continue reading...
