As many of you will have noticed, 2013 was big year of change for S&K. We started the redesign process of our labels in January with John Jewel Design in Albury and they are finalising our new website as I write this. The new branding is a reflection of who we are historically by using a similar colour palette and styling to our old labels in the 70s and 80s, but also to represent a sense of place and the physicality of our winery. We are traditional, family-orientated and a little rustic so weren't looking to be anything we’re not. We are now focusing on becoming entirely estate grown and made and plating to our strenghts and region. Sorry to the Savvy Blanc and Pinot drinkers!
So what can you expect from us in 2014? A new website, new sparkling wines, a re-branding of our fortified range, some different varieties and blends on offer for table wines, an updated Cellar Club with even more benefits, Port & Barrel weekend in October and much more to come. But there won’t be any rest for the wicked as we are also preparing for 2015. It will be our 140th year of winemaking in Rutherglen and that definitely calls for a big party! My great-g-g-g grandfather Timothy Stanton, I'm sure, would approve.
