Spring Quinta Quarterly

Friday, September 01, 2017

Have you ever been made to feel silly by a wine snob? There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy wine and if you like it, you like it, regardless of what others think.  Continue reading...

Fortifieds Demystified

Thursday, July 13, 2017

The world of fortifieds can sometimes be a little confusing. What is a port and what is a liqueur? How long should you leave open a muscat or a port before it doesn’t taste the best? How do you pronounce Topaque and what is it?

Jack's Back

Friday, May 26, 2017

When Jack Stanton planted a block of Shiraz in 1921, it was only a few years after he had returned from war and Australia was greeting the new decade with cautious optimism. With the help of his father - third generation winemaker John Richard Stanton -Jack established his own winery not far from the original Stanton property. Almost 100 years later, and after much patience and care in rejuvenating this very old vineyard, we have released one of our most special wines, the 2016 Jack’s Block Shiraz. Continue reading...

Thursday, March 02, 2017

We are now into Week Four of vintage and have picked Chardonnay, Muscat (for Moscato and Sparkling Muscat Blanc) and Tinta Roriz. It’s an exciting time, and an event that culminates a year’s worth of decisions and hard work in the vineyard and winery. How much to make, yield and cropping levels, the best pruning method, which oak to buy, and what style we’re aiming for, are all questions that pop up regularly.  Continue reading...

Taking time to enjoy the good life

Wednesday, February 01, 2017

This week we said goodbye to Ros, who has been with Stanton & Killeen for over 23 years. Two New Fortifieds for Your Christmas Table

Wednesday, December 07, 2016

Just in time for your Christmas celebrations, we have released two new fortified wines. Whilst both are produced in the ‘port’ style, they are two very different wines expressing the distinctive seasons from which they were made. As one of the few Australian wineries to continue making vintage fortifieds, we love the versatility of these wines that no longer need to be classed as ‘after-dinner drinks’. Continue reading...
