What a great weekend for wine connoisseurs and revelers alike at the 2009 Winery Walkabout held over the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June.
The damp conditions did not stop the crowds turning out in force with as usual some fantastic well behaved groups in fancy dress including some very dodgy looking Mexicans, Alice in Wonderland and friends, Messrs America, pirates and their wenches, The Scarlet Pimpernel, members of the undead including a local well known real estate agent and a lot of people wearing lycra despite the cold.
The crowd was also entertained by a dazzling display by the "Von Trap" family who performed some of their most popular numbers from "The Sound of Music". The group was awarded the prize for best costumes.
George McFloyd Blues Band rocked playing many crowd favorites and the reserve tasting area proved to be very popular for people wishing to meet our winemaker Brendan Heath and learn more about our Museum and new release wines.
The extended garden area proved popular giving lots more room to move and sit and enjoy the fun. The team from S&K are looking forward to seeing you all there again next year! |
