Winery Walkabout 2014

This year's Winery Walkabout was a fabulous success with one of the best crowds we have had topped off with stunning weather. There was plenty of room to dance to the George Macfloyd Blues Band or to find a quiet spot on the haybales to enjoy poffertijies, burritos, pizza, coffee and of course, our wine! Ranging from a 28 year old traditional Australian style port to out latest release using Portuguese varieties, this is a great way to test your palate on a  range of wines not usually available for tasting. The Riedel Wine Glass Company is an incredible 300 year-old family business from Austria who are credited with revolutionizing glassware. Mr Georg Riedel himself-10th generation family member-was in Rutherglen on Wednesday 19th March to taste the region’s top Muscats in order to discuss and deliberate on the best style of glass to enjoy these wines. The vision is to design Rutherglen’s very own unique Riedel glass.  Continue reading...
